Trying to make the hoop earrings got me thinking that I should make fashion earrings that have bright colours and strong shapes but still working with the kwanyuswa colour scheme. I got my reference from looking at the bag the ladies at kwanyuswa just made but I also think that I should probably design more and explore this idea because I think it’s quite a good one.

belt buckles

Making belt buckles for isibhambha which is a beaded belt that is worn by woman just below the waist. I have had to make this belt buckle three times to come to the finale one. I have made it in brass but it will be cast in aluminium probably.

hoop earrings

I am trying to design hoop earrings that will make a big fashion statement. I am designing around the kwanyuswa polity design which is mostly black bead and different colour. Making these earrings is not as easy as I thought as a result I haven’t yet resolved the technic that I should use to finish them, I’m still just trying out a lot of things.
